Fortune Express

Fortune Express is a packaging design for baijiu. The gable roof box measures 280 by 150 by 230 millimetres and is opened from the bottom. Lifting each interior flap reveals five bottles, and each bottle shows a different God of Wealth in a Five Elements colour. Below the bottles are five plush blind boxes that are torn open to reveal small stylised figures. The outer box is finished with foil stamping, and the labels are digitally printed. The plush dolls are made of soft polyester fibre with embroidered details.

Wuliangye Yuandingjinsheng

Wuliangye Yuandingjinsheng is a packaging design for Chinese baijiu served at wedding banquets. The box opens with a pull-out mechanism, so that two pandas drawn in ink painting style appear to embrace each other. Six illustrated stages of a shared life are linked to the steps of opening the package. The bottle shape is based on bamboo, and the cap follows the form of a traditional embroidered ball. The package is made of recyclable pulp material. The spiral bottle mouth allows the bottle to be reused as a cup or a vase.

Kweichow Moutai Sanhua Flying Apsaras

Kweichow Moutai Sanhua Flying Apsaras is a packaging design for a Chinese baijiu spirit. The design uses the Flying Apsaras motif from the Dunhuang murals, an element also found in the brand trademark. The figure is hand painted in the style of ancient Chinese mural art and set on a bright yellow background, a color typical of the Dunhuang murals. The box is opened from the right side, and double-layered cloud-shaped decorations surround the bottle inside. The bottle is opened from the metal cap on top. Su Jiu Dong Po

Su Jiu Dong Po is a set of four liquor bottles inspired by the poetry and life of the poet Su Shi. Each bottle represents one stage of the poet's life, from an exuberant youth to a free spirited later age. The bottles are made of a glass-crystalline white material and follow the streamlined meiping plum vase form, with a narrowed mouth and a full body that recalls Song dynasty porcelain. The outer surface is carved in relief, and the texture shifts from dense to sparse to suggest the flow of a river. Poetic imagery is turned into a visual and tactile experience.

Handicraft Class 10 Years

Handicraft Class 10 Years is packaging designed for aged baijiu. The bottle keeps a classic teardrop shape and is finished with a metal lacquer spray in a matte deep teal tone, combined with gunmetal and gold details. The text on the label is arranged in a letterpress style. The cap has a breakable anti-counterfeiting feature and a transparent, gold embossed top, while the neck is wrapped in printed paper. The outer box carries letterpress details shaped as a stamp, and the paper inserts inside are made from recyclable and biodegradable materials.

Wan Shan Jiu 5696 is a packaging design for a high-end Chinese Baijiu intended for the international market. The bottle has a triangular form that is solid and stable. The triangular shape joins decorative elements of western classical architecture with the eastern idea that three begets all things of the world. Three-dimensional reliefs of famous world landmarks surround the bottle and suggest a journey around the world. A carved metal badge marks the quality of the product. The gift box and the bottle can both be kept and displayed.

Jinzhongzi

Jinzhongzi is a packaging design for a premium baijiu produced in Anhui Province, China. The spirit is presented in a crystal glass bottle whose lower part is wrapped in woven bamboo strips and finished with a spray-painted coating. The bamboo weave refers to the traditional storage method of the brand, in which bamboo strips are woven around specially treated jars used for aging the liquor. The bottle measures 145 by 115 by 275 millimeters. The woven detail adds a tactile quality to the package and supports the identity of the brand.

Jundao Guiniang is a packaging design for a high-end Chinese Baijiu spirit. The hexagonal white ceramic bottle is decorated with a traditional Chinese ink painting, applied by enamel firing. Gui Ba Fang

Gui Ba Fang is a packaging design for a Chinese baijiu spirit. The design draws on the art and history of the Tang Dynasty. The theme is inspired by the account of the Tang emperor welcoming guests from many lands. Traditional calligraphy, seal cutting and Dunhuang fresco motifs are applied to the gift box and the bottle. Taste of Springtime is a packaging design for baijiu, a traditional Chinese spirit. The form recalls an hourglass, created by joining two small bottles, one above the other, as a sign of shared time. At the joint, a reversible figure and ground pattern forms the silhouette of a human profile, and two facing profiles appear at the base. The two bottles hold small volumes and different strengths, which supports moderate drinking alone or with others. The front pack is made of a paper and plastic material that is recyclable and naturally degradable.

Jincaitou

Jincaitou is a packaging design for a series of Chinese baijiu spirits. The cap is made from food grade material, and its pattern combines modern decal printing with traditional enamel techniques. The front of the package shows a dancing lion, a jade ruyi and a magpie, three motifs linked to good fortune in Chinese culture. The back shows painted scenes of the liquor making process, from feeding and cooking to fermentation and distilling. The package measures 105 by 105 by 260 millimetres and uses modern production methods that keep costs low.
