Taste of Springtime
Taste of Springtime is a packaging design for baijiu, a traditional Chinese spirit. The form recalls an hourglass, created by joining two small bottles, one above the other, as a sign of shared time. At the joint, a reversible figure and ground pattern forms the silhouette of a human profile, and two facing profiles appear at the base. The two bottles hold small volumes and different strengths, which supports moderate drinking alone or with others. The front pack is made of a paper and plastic material that is recyclable and naturally degradable.
Taste of Springtime Baijiu Packaging by Wei Li was identified as an innovative illustration of communication design by the A' Design Award & Competition. Taste of Springtime Baijiu Packaging was awarded the Iron A' Design Award in Packaging Design in 2024. The A' Packaging Design Award is a highly prestigious, international, juried design prize which celebrates exceptional design of bottles, boxes, cans, pouches, tubes, cartons, wrappers, bags and more.
