The Galimberti
The graphic world of the exhibition catalogue was inspired by the closely intertwined lives of the painting couple (Valeria Denes and Sandor Galimberti) who died young in 1915. The use of individual ligatures in the typography subtly illustrates the strong human connection that made the work of this tragic couple a shared oeuvre. The book was published in two separate volumes, in English and Hungarian. The cloth bound covers are protected by a dust jacket that can be opened into a poster, the Hungarian edition featuring a painting by Valeria Denes, the English edition by Sandor Galimberti.
The Galimberti Exhibition Catalogue by Andorka Timea has been featured as a creative example of communication design by the A' Design Awards. The Galimberti Exhibition Catalogue won the Iron A' Design Award in Print and Published Media Design in 2025. The A' Print and Published Media Design Award is a highly prestigious, international, juried design competition that recognizes superior design of brochures, posters, magazines, catalogs, flyers, business cards, billboards, books and more.
