Light Surge
Light Surge is a womenswear collection that combines optical fiber with garment fabrics. The design explores the relationship between materials, technology and clothing. Optical fiber cloth, hanging fibers and hand-sewn crystal chains form a three-dimensional structure around the body. LED strips are inlaid into the garment structure. The light changes between blue and white in color and brightness. A set program runs with a switch, and mobile phone software allows control within a limited range. Glowing marine life inspired the collection.
Light Surge Womenswear Collection by 陈 扬 has been identified as an outstanding representation of fashion design by the A' Design Award. Light Surge Womenswear Collection was awarded the Iron A' Design Award in Fashion, Apparel and Garment Design in 2024. The A' Fashion, Apparel and Garment Design Award is a highly prestigious, international, juried design recognition program that rewards outstanding design of runway collections, dresses, suits, skirts, outerwear, jackets, apparel, garments and more.
