Glitters
Glitters is a photography series that studies the surface of sequin fabric. The series treats an ordinary functional material as a medium for abstract painting. Human contact changes the sequins in an irreversible way, and each mark is recorded by the camera. The images move from macro to micro views to explore material, texture, color and light. Chance, lighting and intuition guide the experimental approach. The photographs were taken with a digital camera and processed with digital software. Prints are made in a limited edition on fine art paper and plexiglass in four sizes.
Glitters Exhibition Photography Series by Lau King has been highlighted as a creative illustration of communication design by the A' Design Award.
