Blockazo
Blockazo is a one kilogram chocolate bar designed for sharing. The large bar is broken into big chunks before eating, so that several people can serve themselves. The design takes inspiration from the construction industry and from concrete, because the bar is like a building that must be demolished before it can be consumed. The surface is divided into rhomboid shapes that guide the breaking. The bar is made of chocolate with peanuts. The packaging is made of a flexible mix of polypropylene and polyethylene.
Blockazo Chocolate Bar for Sharing by Guillermo Dufranc was recognized as an innovative representation of product design by the A' Design Award & Competition. Blockazo Chocolate Bar for Sharing earned the Golden A' Design Award in Food, Beverage and Culinary Arts Design in 2022. The A' Food, Beverage and Culinary Arts Design Award is an international, meritocratic, just and fair design competition that honors exceptional design of design for food, design with food, food servings, tasting menus, cocktails, desserts, entrées, main dishes, culinary experiences and more.
