Apex
Apex is a fine art landscape photography series that examines the organic forms and textures of a mountain peak. The images were captured at the summit of the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain in Yunnan Province, China, at an altitude of 4280 meters. The rock formations create a contrast between ordered complexity and simplicity, offering a different perspective on natural beauty. The photographs were taken handheld with one digital camera and a single prime lens, then processed and retouched digitally. Apex is intended as a serene and meditative medium for viewers.
Apex Photography by Yicheng Feng has been recognized as a grand representation of communication design by the A' Design Award. Apex Photography won the Silver A' Design Award in Photography and Photo Manipulation Design in 2021. The A' Photography and Photo Manipulation Design Award is an international, juried, academic and meritocratic design accolade that rewards superior design of portraits, landscapes, still lifes, photojournalism, fashion shots, architectural images, wildlife captures, sports events and more.
