Airwood
Airwood is an assembly drone kit designed for children and adults. The four-axis drone uses a frame made of composite basswood board, cut into thin two-millimeter pieces by a laser cutter. Users assemble the wood boards and the electronic parts by hand to build both the drone and the remote control. Modular controllers, motors and batteries allow several frames and appearances to be created from one set. The drone supports indoor hovering, aerial photography and graphical programming. The certified wood reduces the use of plastic and metal.
Airwood Multifunctional Wooden Drone by Fang Wen was featured as an exceptional illustration of industrial design by the A' Design Award & Competition.
