Future Of The Digitally Literate Society

Future of the Digitally Society is a mobile application created for a public library service. The application combines browsing, searching, sharing and personalised recommendations in one interface. Augmented reality mapping and low power Bluetooth beacons help users locate books, receive contextual messages and find assistance inside library branches. Books can be borrowed by scanning a barcode, saved to personal shelves or reserved for collection at any branch. The design connects the physical library with digital channels in a continuous experience.

Future Of The Digitally Literate Society Mobile Application by National Library Board Singapore / Idean has been selected as a creative representation of communication design by the A' Design Award. Future Of The Digitally Literate Society Mobile Application was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in Mobile Technologies, Applications and Software Design in 2020. The A' Mobile Technologies, Applications and Software Design Award is an international, meritocratic, just and fair design prize which rewards outstanding design of smartphones, tablets, wearables, mobile applications, mobile games, mobile software, mobile platforms, mobile interfaces and more.
