Oiso Hillside Residential Villa

Oiso Hillside

Oiso Hillside is a residential villa located in Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan. The design follows the natural shape of the sloping site instead of leveling the ground for construction. Skipped floors, a two-story ceiling above a sunken conversation area and a three-level deck form a dynamic interior. Views of the surrounding hills and mountains can be enjoyed from the living spaces. A Japanese seismic-resistant method with a wooden rigid-frame structure allows wide open spaces. Wood is the main interior material, and a few antique pieces add accents.

Tipsy Paradise Casa Residential Villa

Tipsy Paradise Casa

Tipsy Paradise Casa is a residential villa interior covering 1400 square metres. The plan places a ring-shaped wine cellar at the centre of the home. Banquet, reception and recreation areas are arranged around the cellar, so each area sits next to the wine cabinets. The central floor of the first level is opened so that daylight reaches the underground level. An arc-shaped outer ring and a curved stainless steel reflective surface reduce the visual pressure of the low ceiling and the beams. Solid wood, metal plate and ceramic board are used.

The Terrarium Place Residential Villa

The Terrarium Place

The inspiration for this unique villa came from rock formations in the local landscape, where nature’s geometry never ceases to amaze. The idea was to break down the traditional building mass and create a design that is integrated with its environs, by emulating natural shapes. At the center of the Terrarium Place, lies a beautifully landscaped open-air courtyard. Every room in the house is situated around it and thus has endless flow of light, natural air and greenery. With only three main colors carrying through the entire space, concrete, light bronze and green.

High Hopes Residential Villa

High Hopes

High Hopes is a residential villa built on a hillside in Chadegan, Isfahan, Iran. The design expresses three times: past, present and future. The plan follows lines drawn from the Zayandeh River, while the volume joins a mountain form with an Iranian arch. Algorithmic methods were used to respond to sun, wind, rain, snow and slope. Canopies, tall windows and a glass atrium bring daylight inside and support natural ventilation. Brick, concrete, ICF blocks and mineral coatings reduce energy use by up to 70 percent and improve earthquake resistance.

BSG Residential Villa Residential Villa

BSG Residential Villa

BSG Villas is a residential villa designed as an example of contemporary architecture. The roof is fully covered with solar panels that produce the energy needed by the household. The roof shape also allows rain and snow water to be collected in storage units, which serve as the main bearings of the building. The steel structure rests on three bearing bases, so the impact on the soil is reduced. The villa stands 6 metres above the ground and reaches 23.80 metres at the apex. An ornamental pool below is visible through a partly glass floor.
