Mao Tai Chun
Mao Tai Chun is a packaging design for a Chinese liquor. The bottle is made of matte green ceramic, decorated with a high temperature firing print technique, and holds 500 millilitres. The metal lid follows the theme of the year of the rat and is shaped by a hollowing process. The outer box is made of beige special paper, printed in spot colours and finished with hot stamping. Text and cultural motifs are kept simple and clear. The design joins a flying fairy motif with the rat symbol to present traditional Chinese culture to younger consumers.
Mao Tai Chun Liquor by Zeng Li has been selected as a creative example of communication design by the A' Design Awards. Mao Tai Chun Liquor received the Bronze A' Design Award in Packaging Design in 2020. The A' Packaging Design Award is an international, meritocratic, just and fair design prize which honors superior design of bottles, boxes, cans, pouches, tubes, cartons, wrappers, bags and more.
