Glassy Library
Glass Library is a lighting scheme for a library set inside a three-level split glass building. The ambient lighting is kept soft and even, so reading stays comfortable as daylight changes. Concealed LED strips inside suspended steel rods create a flowing halo. Recessed floor uplights emphasize the column and the feature wall, while custom recessed accent lights highlight the artifacts. A photo sensor near the glass curtain walls balances interior light levels during the day, as no dimming system could be used.
Glassy Library Lighting by Licht.Associates Limited has been selected as an exceptional representation of industrial design by the A' Design Award & Competition. Glassy Library Lighting earned the Silver A' Design Award in Lighting Products and Fixtures Design in 2020. The A' Lighting Products and Fixtures Design Award is an international, jury-voted, fair and ethical design accolade which rewards outstanding design of chandeliers, pendant lights, wall sconces, table lamps, floor lamps, outdoor lights, recessed lights, track lights and more.
