Phoenix Nest
Phoenix Nest is a homestay located in the tourist resort town of Fuxian Lake in Yunnan. The interior also serves as an experience hall for hand-made copper household products. The color scheme is based on black, white and gray, supported by wood tones and plant green, so that the copper objects stand out. The kitchen is open in plan and combines a concrete counter, solid wood boards, colored glass bowls and ceramic pots. A long western-style table is used for shared dining. White gauze curtains soften the sunlight and protect privacy in each room.
Phoenix Nest Homestay by Xia Song has been recognized as an exceptional illustration of architectural design by the A' Design Award. Phoenix Nest Homestay was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2020. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is an international, juried, academic and meritocratic design recognition program that honors exceptional design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
