Tai Quan Palace
Tai Quan Palace is an office space located in New Taipei City, Taiwan. The entrance corridor follows a traditional Chinese style and recalls an ancient palace. The corridor walls are covered with 26,000 pieces of gold foil, applied by hand over primer instead of paint. Traditional Chinese double doors with door nails and mortise and tenon joints were made by woodworkers. The working areas are simpler, with white walls, cabinets, desks and chairs, and details in iron and copper. A barrier-free ramp solves the height difference at the entrance.
Tai Quan Palace Office Space by SHEN FU CHEN was selected as an outstanding example of architectural design by the A' Design Award & Competition. Tai Quan Palace Office Space won the Iron A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2020. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is an international, juried, academic and meritocratic design recognition program that honors superior design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
