The Unconventional Waltz
The Unconventional Waltz is the interior design of a real estate sales center set in a long and narrow commercial space of 622.9 square meters. Curved walls, ceilings and hallways are finished with wood veneers, and the round reception counter combines Apollo grey marble with wire brushed veneers. Mirror columns and metal tassels reduce the oppressive feeling of the narrow plan, while pendant lamps form a window display. The curved forms soften the structural beams and create a smooth, relaxing and fashionable environment.
The Unconventional Waltz Sales Center by Chao Yen Chen was selected as an innovative illustration of architectural design by the A' Design Award & Competition. The Unconventional Waltz Sales Center earned the Golden A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2020. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is an international, meritocratic, just and fair design accolade that honors superior design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
