Tokyo is a clutch bag made of high quality cow nappa leather with a mineral tanning. The surface carries a three-dimensional diamond structure that is hand embossed, bag by bag, with single forms instead of industrial machinery. The embossing method leaves the leather free of stitching, soft and flexible, while the relief pattern stays permanent. Hidden magnets at the sides gently shape the zipper for a clean finish. The zipper is hand cast in metal and black chromed. The clutch bag measures 22 by 7 by 11 centimeters.
Tokyo Clutch Bag by von rauten was highlighted as a creative example of fashion design by the A' Design Award & Competition. Tokyo Clutch Bag won the Bronze A' Design Award in Fashion and Travel Accessories Design in 2020. The A' Fashion and Travel Accessories Design Award is an international, juried, academic and meritocratic design prize which recognizes superior design of handbags, scarves, belts, luggage, hats, travel bags, cravats, gloves, wallets and more.
