Escudellers
In the historic center of Barcelona, a dwelling is being renovated in a building built in 1840. It’s placed in the emblematic Escudellers Street, which was a center for the potter guild in the Middle Age. In the rehabilitation, we took into account traditional constructive techniques. The priority has been given to the preservation and restoration of the original building elements which, together with their historical patina, give a clear added value.
Escudellers Residential House by Jofre Roca Calaf was identified as a creative illustration of architectural design by the A' Design Awards. Escudellers Residential House earned the Bronze A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2020. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is an international, meritocratic, just and fair design competition which celebrates exceptional design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
