CST
CST Platform is a circular stapler designed for digestive surgery. Circular staplers join tissue and restore the continuity of the alimentary canal after part of an organ is removed. The internal supporting structure of the housing was removed to create a barrier-free head, which reduces staple malformation caused by the piston effect. The enlarged tubular casing allows more tissue to be resected in a single step. An automatic safety lock engages only when the instrument is ready to fire, and a clear bell tone confirms that firing is complete.
CST Circular Stapler by TOUCHSTONE has been identified as a grand illustration of industrial design by the A' Design Award & Competition. CST Circular Stapler won the Iron A' Design Award in Medical Devices and Medical Equipment Design in 2020. The A' Medical Devices and Medical Equipment Design Award is an international, juried, academic and meritocratic design recognition program that honors outstanding design of stethoscopes, wheelchairs, defibrillators, MRI machines, surgical instruments, prosthetics, ultrasound devices, pacemakers and more.
