Simple and Serene
Simple and Serene is a residential interior design created for a collector of contemporary Taiwanese ceramic art. Several display areas are integrated into the floor plan, so the collection guides the circulation and the functional layout. Simple and restrained colors match the bold glazes of the ceramic works. Handmade timber flooring and marble add natural texture. Recessed lamps of museum grade at 300 lux protect the artwork, and a curtain with a honeycomb structure blocks 78 percent of the heat. The kitchen and dining area are set apart from the display zones.
Simple and Serene Residence by YU FEN LEE was highlighted as an innovative representation of architectural design by the A' Design Award & Competition. Simple and Serene Residence was awarded the Iron A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2020. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is an international, jury-voted, fair and ethical design prize which celebrates outstanding design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
