Lafonce Maxone
Lafonce Maxone is a cultural and commercial complex located in Xi'an, China. The interior brings together a shopping mall, a bookstore and other business types under a single book theme. Two artistic book walls, 18 metres high and 240 metres long in total, hold hundreds of thousands of books and are built with steel structures and transparent glass. The glass allows light to spread into the void area of the building. The original structure had been left unused for three years, and its open volume was kept to create a strong sense of space.
Lafonce Maxone Commercial Complex by Hansheng Cheng was recognized as an outstanding illustration of architectural design by the A' Design Awards. Lafonce Maxone Commercial Complex received the Golden A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2020. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is a highly prestigious, international, juried design prize that celebrates exceptional design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
