Metaphors in White
Metaphors in White is a residential interior design for an apartment of 330 square meters. The design is based on white surfaces, light gray tones and wood grain floors. A family crest, adapted from the house owner's company logo, appears on the white walls and doors as laser-cut elements that are polished and painted in white. A dark brown hallway links the living room and the dining room and marks the transition between the two areas. The open kitchen includes an island counter that supports a clear circulation flow.
Metaphors in White Residential Apartment by Wei-Cheng Tsai and Li-Yung Chen has been identified as an exceptional example of architectural design by the A' Design Awards. Metaphors in White Residential Apartment was awarded the Iron A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2020. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is an international, meritocratic, just and fair design prize that celebrates exceptional design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
