Neumatt
Neumatt Sports Center is a three-pitch sports hall in Strengelbach, Switzerland. Inside, green, yellow, red, orange and blue are used both as decoration and as a navigation system, and changing rooms are identified by color instead of numbers. The glazed upper level uses capillary glass that brings daylight deep into the hall and reduces glare. A geothermal heat pump heats the building in winter and cools it in summer, so air conditioning is not required. The rendered base carries a pattern of sport icons.
Neumatt Sports Center by Evolution Design has been selected as a grand illustration of architectural design by the A' Design Awards. Neumatt Sports Center was awarded the Silver A' Design Award in Architecture, Building and Structure Design in 2016. The A' Architecture, Building and Structure Design Award is a highly prestigious, international, juried design recognition program which recognizes outstanding design of skyscrapers, museums, residential buildings, commercial complexes, educational institutions, religious structures, infrastructure designs, landscaping projects and more.
