MG Assos Electric Car

MG Assos

MG Assos is an electric car designed for four people. The car carries spare lithium ion batteries that are activated when the main battery is consumed, providing energy for an additional period and helping to avoid stranding. The spare batteries are portable and can be charged from common sockets, and three sockets are provided inside the vehicle. A sliding door system allows all occupants to leave the car at the same time. The wheel rim shape refers to kundekari, a traditional motif whose name means to hold or grasp. The stop lamps take their form from sea waves.

MG Assos Electric Car by Murat Gedik has been recognized as a grand illustration of industrial design by the A' Design Awards. MG Assos Electric Car was awarded the Iron A' Design Award in Vehicle, Mobility and Transportation Design in 2015. The A' Vehicle, Mobility and Transportation Design Award is an international, juried, academic and meritocratic design accolade which rewards exceptional design of cars, motorcycles, bicycles, trucks, buses, trains, ships, aircrafts and more.
