The design explores the tactile and emotional resonance of Taiwanese terrazzo, translating its material essence into a diverse design collection. The Taiwan Terrazzo Tales Calendar serves as the primary medium, archiving local textures and their underlying narratives into a visual timeline. By transforming sensory experiences into graphic storytelling, the work invites users to revisit the past through a daily ritual of flipping through time worn yet luminous memories.
Taiwan Terrazzo Calendar by YING CHEN HSU has been highlighted as an innovative example of communication design by the A' Design Award. Taiwan Terrazzo Calendar received the Bronze A' Design Award in Cultural Heritage and Culture Industry Design in 2026. The A' Cultural Heritage and Culture Industry Design Award is an international, meritocratic, just and fair design prize which celebrates excellent design of cultural heritage projects, cultural conversation, preservation, restoration and protection projects, heritage architecture and more.
