Hsinchu Scroll
Hsinchu Scroll is an interactive installation created for an exhibition in Hsinchu City, Taiwan. The design adapts the traditional Chinese handscroll into a spatial journey through two galleries, each measuring about 30 by 15 meters with a ceiling height of 5 meters. Infrared depth sensors track visitor movement and trigger real-time calligraphy and flowing water effects. Lightweight modular screen structures and high-gain projection fabric support large-scale digital projections. In a final zone, visitors leave digital calligraphic marks and join the evolving exhibition.
Hsinchu Scroll Interaction Installation by Cultural Affairs Bureau of Hsinchu City was highlighted as a grand illustration of communication design by the A' Design Award & Competition. Hsinchu Scroll Interaction Installation earned the Bronze A' Design Award in Installation Design in 2026. The A' Interactive, Experiential and Immersive Design Installations Award is a juried, academic and highly prestigious design accolade which celebrates outstanding design of sculptural installations, light installations, sound installations, digital installations, kinetic installations, Site-Specific installations, interactive installations, performance installations and more.
