Nomad House
This project reinterprets a 40 year old residence for contemporary nomadic living by removing existing layers to reveal latent spatial potential within the concrete structure. Originally fragmented across levels, the space is reorganized vertically into a continuous composition, with an open living area above, private spaces below, and an introspective basement. The basement supports both individual retreat and shared moments, creating a gradual transition between openness and intimacy, where memory emerges through everyday inhabitation.
Nomad House Residential by Ryoko Ogoshi was recognized as a creative representation of architectural design by the A' Design Award & Competition. Nomad House Residential received the Silver A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2026. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is a highly prestigious international design accolade that celebrates excellent design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
