OMO5 Hakodate
OMO5 Hakodate is a hotel located in front of Hakodate Station in Hokkaido, Japan. An existing building was rebranded, extended and renovated under the concept of 120 percent Hakodate. A large stained-glass artwork inspired by local attractions greets guests at the entrance. The public area, called OMO Base, offers several ways to spend time, such as relaxing with friends. Guest rooms feature wall illustrations of the Hakodate nightscape. The buffet restaurant has a live kitchen inspired by the star-shaped Goryokaku Fort, plus lanterns and pendant lights made from fishing nets.
OMO5 Hakodate Hotel by Fumihiko Fujii has been recognized as a grand representation of service design by the A' Design Award. OMO5 Hakodate Hotel received the Silver A' Design Award in Hospitality, Recreation, Travel and Tourism Design in 2026. The A' Hospitality, Recreation, Travel and Tourism Design Award is a highly prestigious international design competition which celebrates exceptional design of hotels, restaurants, resorts, cafes, bars, cruise ships, theme parks, travel experiences and more.
