The Boomerang
The Boomerang Athens is a residence in Athens, Greece, spanning 425 square meters across four levels. The building is the renovation of an existing structure, upgraded for net-zero energy performance. High-performance insulation, triple-glazed thermally broken aluminium windows and underfloor heating reduce the energy demand. A KNX automation network controls heating, cooling, lighting and security. Photovoltaic-integrated pergolas and low-emission finishes support sustainability. A rooftop pool and large windows link the interior with outdoor areas.
The Boomerang House by VASSILIS SIAFARICAS has been selected as an outstanding example of architectural design by the A' Design Award & Competition. The Boomerang House received the Iron A' Design Award in Architecture, Building and Structure Design in 2025. The A' Architecture, Building and Structure Design Award is an international, jury-voted, fair and ethical design prize which rewards outstanding design of skyscrapers, museums, residential buildings, commercial complexes, educational institutions, religious structures, infrastructure designs, landscaping projects and more.
