Mutualistic Symbiosis
Mutualistic Symbiosis is a ring inspired by symbiotic crystals. The design combines 18k gold and 925 silver bands set with natural gemstones. The 18k gold keeps its raw texture without surface treatment, which contrasts with the polished protruding elements and the smooth inner ring. The 925 silver section is burnished through repeated acid washing, calcination and special treatment to reveal the natural brilliance of the metal. The ring measures 14.5 mm by 14.5 mm by 5 mm. The form expresses the idea that imperfections can become unique qualities.
Mutualistic Symbiosis Jewelery by Taylor Chyn was selected as a grand illustration of fashion design by the A' Design Award. Mutualistic Symbiosis Jewelery was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in Jewelry Design in 2025. The A' Jewelry Design Award is an international, juried, academic and meritocratic design accolade which honors excellent design of rings, necklaces, bracelets, earrings, brooches, pendants, cufflinks, anklets and more.
