Lai Hao
Lai Hao is a gift shop interior located in Ximending, Taipei, Taiwan. The store sells Taiwanese cultural and creative products. The design combines vintage and modern elements. Neon tubing outlines local landmarks, and a vintage lightbox is paired with neon lighting. Wood veneer and rattan tones recall traditional grocery stores, while faux terrazzo flooring adds texture. Movable islands and detachable pegboards allow flexible displays. The layout forms a loop that guides visitors through the 66.1 square meter space, set within a building over 50 years old.
Lai Hao Gift Shop by Wan-Ting Hung has been featured as an outstanding representation of architectural design by the A' Design Awards. Lai Hao Gift Shop was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2025. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is an international, meritocratic, just and fair design prize which recognizes exceptional design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
