Flora
Flora is a label design for a bottled gin produced in Chile. The design is inspired by the landscapes of the north and the south of the country, from desert mountains to Patagonian skies. Warm tones refer to sunrises over northern deserts, while cool tones refer to clouds on cold Patagonian days. The label is printed on textured martele paper, and gold foil is applied to the logo, the sun and the clouds. A special die cutting process shapes the label, and embossing marks the description panel. The bottle is closed with a wooden cork.
Flora Gin by Ian Wallace has been highlighted as a creative illustration of communication design by the A' Design Award. Flora Gin was awarded the Golden A' Design Award in Packaging Design in 2025. The A' Packaging Design Award is a juried, academic and highly prestigious design competition which rewards excellent design of bottles, boxes, cans, pouches, tubes, cartons, wrappers, bags and more.
