Photosynthesis
Photosynthesis is a residential interior design for a family of four in an apartment of 92.5 square meters. The layout includes a master bedroom, a children's room, a study, a living room and a dining and kitchen area. A glass partition encloses the study, letting natural light pass through and keeping contact with the social area. Entrance cabinets, shelves and the television wall are combined into one unit to increase storage. A bunk bed and staircase drawers add further storage. Walnut, white and light gray tones create a calm setting.
Photosynthesis Residence by Yu-Chia Chang was identified as a creative example of architectural design by the A' Design Awards. Photosynthesis Residence earned the Silver A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2025. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is an international, meritocratic, just and fair design recognition program that celebrates outstanding design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
