Zhang Jiang Cheng
Zhang Jiang Cheng is an upscale restaurant interior located in a busy district of Shanghai. The restaurant serves Hakka fusion cuisine, and the idea of fusion guides the whole design. Chinese ceramics are redesigned with modern methods and placed within a minimalist modern space as art installations. Most of the tableware is custom made in Jingdezhen and fired at 1300 degrees Celsius. Each private dining room has its own design character. The intent is to offer a calm and elegant setting that presents Eastern aesthetics.
Zhang Jiang Cheng Restaurant by Guo Tingting was highlighted as an innovative example of architectural design by the A' Design Award & Competition. Zhang Jiang Cheng Restaurant earned the Bronze A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2024. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is an international, juried, academic and meritocratic design accolade that celebrates exceptional design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
