The National Gallery
The National Gallery is a visual identity created for the national art gallery in London. The identity replaces a typography-only logo with a distinct graphic mark. The new logo is a double L frame formed by seven lines. The seven lines refer to the painting collection, which spans the 13th to the 19th centuries. The logo remains legible at a minimum width of 0.75 inches. The wordmark places emphasis on London to improve visibility in online searches. The intent is to make the gallery easier to recognise worldwide.
The National Gallery Visual Identity by Meng Chu Huang has been featured as a creative representation of communication design by the A' Design Award. The National Gallery Visual Identity won the Iron A' Design Award in Graphics, Illustration and Visual Communication Design in 2024. The A' Graphics, Illustration and Visual Communication Design Award is a highly prestigious international design accolade that honors outstanding design of logos, posters, infographics, brochures, packaging designs, business cards, book covers, billboards and more.
