Feng Ya Wu Zhen
Feng Ya Wu Zhen is a ceramic speaker inspired by the water town of Wuzhen in Zhejiang, China. The compact body measures 70 by 70 by 70 millimetres and refers to the ancient architecture of Tongxiang. Each speaker is hand fired at 1,300 degrees, so the colour of every piece is slightly different. Modern graphic compositions replace traditional ink painting to express local culture. The outer packaging uses matte coated paper with a velvet interior, and carries textured musical note elements and braille in embossed printing.
Feng Ya Wu Zhen Ceramic Speaker by Chao Yang was highlighted as an innovative illustration of industrial design by the A' Design Award. Feng Ya Wu Zhen Ceramic Speaker won the Bronze A' Design Award in Audio and Sound Equipment Design in 2024. The A' Audio and Sound Equipment Design Award is an international, juried, academic and meritocratic design accolade which celebrates exceptional design of headphones, microphones, speakers, amplifiers, soundbars, turntables, sound mixers, digital audio workstations and more.
