Jiao Yu Gin
Jiao Yu Gin is a packaging design created for a gin made in Sichuan, China. The azure blue glass bottle has a slender curved body with bamboo weaving reliefs on the surface. The reliefs refer to the bamboo weaving culture of the Sichuan and Chongqing regions. The relief surface gives a comfortable grip and a layered sense of touch. A biodegradable bamboo paper label presents the product information in a clear layout with contrasting colours. An oak cork seals the bottle and allows the bottle to be closed again after each serving. The glass, label and cork can be recycled.
Jiao Yu Gin Packaging by Laizhou Distillery has been featured as an outstanding representation of communication design by the A' Design Award. Jiao Yu Gin Packaging was awarded the Silver A' Design Award in Packaging Design in 2024. The A' Packaging Design Award is a juried, academic and highly prestigious design prize which celebrates superior design of bottles, boxes, cans, pouches, tubes, cartons, wrappers, bags and more.
