Nest
The designer conceptualizes the case around the theme of "swallows' return to the nest," incorporating their preference for a black tile slanted roof. This concept is realized through 2 slanted roof volumes, resembling the wings of swallows. By extending the outdoor paddy field landscape into the interior, the designer creates a captivating spatial experience. Multi-level skylights and patios, including those above balconies and in the attic and hall, add depth to the space while inviting sunlight to bathe the tranquil residence in Yilan.
Nest Residence by Wei Fang was identified as an outstanding illustration of architectural design by the A' Design Awards. Nest Residence earned the Iron A' Design Award in Architecture, Building and Structure Design in 2024.
