Royan
Royan is a double-sided sofa designed for hotel lobbies, waiting rooms, libraries and other luxury spaces. The curved form is inspired by the letters of Nasta'liq calligraphy, a script used in Iran and in many Islamic countries. Seating is offered on both sides, and the shaped armrests allow users to lean in several ways. Built-in spaces hold books and plants, and wireless chargers are included. The wooden frame is shaped by CNC machining and is covered with polyurethane foam and a layer of leather or fabric. Metal edges protect the bases.
Royan Sofa by Esmail Ghadrdani has been featured as an outstanding illustration of industrial design by the A' Design Award & Competition. Royan Sofa won the Silver A' Design Award in Furniture Design in 2024. The A' Furniture Design Award is a juried, academic and highly prestigious design recognition program which honors exceptional design of chairs, tables, sofas, beds, cabinets, shelves, desks, wardrobes and more.
