Terrace to The Sky
Terrace to The Sky is a residential interior located in the Wanhua district of Taipei. The design renovates a forty-year-old duplex on the fourth and fifth floors, with a total area of 180 square meters. Materials found during demolition guided the new work, and exposed red bricks were replaced with glass bricks of the same size to let daylight pass through. Movable curtains and sliding doors connect or separate the rooms. Folding floor-to-ceiling windows open the living area to a planted rooftop terrace.
Terrace to The Sky Residence by Chinhua Huang was featured as a grand representation of architectural design by the A' Design Award & Competition. Terrace to The Sky Residence was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2024. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is an international, jury-voted, fair and ethical design award which celebrates outstanding design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
