House of Light Well
House of Light Well is a residential interior design for a row house about 30 meters long. The original building is divided into front and rear sections by a central light well. The light well is transformed into a core space similar to an outdoor square, and all rooms are reached through it. An open staircase wraps around the light well, and multi-level platforms hold areas for reading, work, fitness, children's play and entertainment. A tree stands at the center. Glass brick walls and stepped terraces add privacy and reduce street noise.
House of Light Well Residence by Chun Yen Chen was highlighted as a grand example of architectural design by the A' Design Award. House of Light Well Residence received the Silver A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2024. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is a juried, academic and highly prestigious design award that rewards outstanding design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
