Midnight Tide
Midnight Tide is a necklace made of 18ct white gold with inlaid diamonds. The neckpiece consists of 79 individually modeled units, each cast to serve a specific function and shaped in reference to human bones. The units interconnect through an original linkage mechanism inspired by body ligaments, which creates controlled tension and fluid movement. Each unit was prototyped, assembled and recast with precise adjustment, and the joints were fine-tuned by hand. The resulting form recalls the movement of ocean tides across the shoulder.
Midnight Tide Necklace by Elinn Fang was identified as an innovative example of fashion design by the A' Design Awards. Midnight Tide Necklace earned the Silver A' Design Award in Jewelry Design in 2023. The A' Jewelry Design Award is an international, meritocratic, just and fair design competition that honors exceptional design of rings, necklaces, bracelets, earrings, brooches, pendants, cufflinks, anklets and more.
