Tiles
Tiles is a writing desk and chair set made mainly of metal copper. The forms and patterns follow Chinese furniture traditions, while the cool brown copper adds a modern character to the simple and solid shapes. The decorative pattern is inspired by overlapping roof tiles. The chair form refers to the Chinese Ming style armchair. A brown leather cushion makes the seat more comfortable. The copper parts are cut, carved, bent, welded and polished, and the plate edges are wrapped in metal tube that forms the main connecting structure. Tiles suits studies and living rooms.
Tiles Writing Desk by Wei Jingye / 魏靖野 was recognized as a grand representation of industrial design by the A' Design Award & Competition. Tiles Writing Desk was awarded the Iron A' Design Award in Furniture Design in 2023. The A' Furniture Design Award is a juried, academic and highly prestigious design recognition program which celebrates excellent design of chairs, tables, sofas, beds, cabinets, shelves, desks, wardrobes and more.
