Life Ark
Life Ark is an outdoor public seat designed for parks and scenic areas. The form is based on the shape of a leaf, with flowing lines and a hollow grille surface. The seat is made of stainless steel, forged by hand over a mould and welded into shape. A baking varnish finish limits heat transfer, while the grille lets water drain away and air pass through. The backrest follows the curve of the body and reaches an angle of 108 degrees, so reading, working and resting are supported. The design combines decoration with rest and promotes the idea of green living.
Life Ark Outdoor Seats by Shangqiu Lin was highlighted as an outstanding illustration of industrial design by the A' Design Award & Competition. Life Ark Outdoor Seats received the Bronze A' Design Award in Garden and Outdoor Furniture Design in 2023. The A' Garden and Outdoor Furniture Design Award is an international, juried, academic and meritocratic design accolade which celebrates exceptional design of deck chairs, garden benches, picnic tables, patio sets, outdoor daybeds, hammocks, fire pits, sun loungers and more.
