Weaving Interactable Silk Scarf

Weaving

Weaving is an interactive silk scarf that can be rearranged by the wearer. The square scarf measures 1000 by 1000 millimetres. Two tapes cross the body of the scarf in a warp and weft arrangement, drawn from traditional Chinese weaving methods. By pulling the tapes in four directions, the user changes the pattern and can form up to 16 different visual combinations. The design moves the silk scarf from a flat surface to a three-dimensional form. Digital printing is used for the patterns, which remain aligned in every combination.

Weaving Interactable Silk Scarf by Ye Feng was featured as a creative example of fashion design by the A' Design Award. Weaving Interactable Silk Scarf received the Iron A' Design Award in Textile, Fabric, Textures, Patterns and Cloth Design in 2023. The A' Textile, Fabric, Textures, Patterns and Cloth Design Award is a highly prestigious international design accolade which honors excellent design of structural fabric, engineered cloth, smart textiles, technical textiles, woven fabric, jacquard fabric, tapestries and more.
