The Flow
The Flow is a public space interior design for the shared areas of a residential building in Taipei City, Taiwan. The design theme is water, used as a metaphor for time and movement. A wood grill ceiling with curved wavy forms runs from the main entrance to the reception desk and continues through the lounge, the mailroom and the underground parking area. Corrugated stainless steel panels on the elevator hall walls suggest ripples. Reflective walls and white marble effect ceramic tiles widen the space visually. Wood and stainless steel were selected because both materials are recyclable.
The Flow Public Space by Peng-Hsu Chen has been featured as an innovative illustration of architectural design by the A' Design Awards. The Flow Public Space earned the Bronze A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2023. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is a highly prestigious international design recognition program which rewards outstanding design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
