Galaxy
Galaxy is a modular furniture system designed for home interiors. The series includes a television cabinet, a sideboard, a bookcase, a cupboard and a cloakroom unit. Traditional arched forms are flattened and simplified, joining a classical character with a modern outline. The cabinet bodies are finished with environmentally friendly powder spraying, and the full-height glass doors are carved in three dimensions to add texture. A saturated green tone is used throughout. Storage modules can be combined to suit the changing needs of a household.
Galaxy System Furniture by Wang Lu has been identified as an exceptional example of industrial design by the A' Design Award & Competition. Galaxy System Furniture was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in Furniture Design in 2023. The A' Furniture Design Award is an international, juried, academic and meritocratic design prize which recognizes excellent design of chairs, tables, sofas, beds, cabinets, shelves, desks, wardrobes and more.
