The Collector
The Collector is a residential apartment interior in Cairo, Egypt, with a total area of 250 square meters. The design serves an art collector and follows a maximalist concept of more colors, more patterns, more textures and more accessories. The interior is inspired by the historical palace of princess Aisha Fahmy on the Nile river bank in Cairo. Classic cornices, silk wall panels, wall paintings and wooden flooring are combined with colorful patterned textiles. The apartment also displays art and objects gathered during travels, so the home works as a museum of art.
The Collector Residential Apartment by Hoda Lasheen was identified as an exceptional representation of architectural design by the A' Design Awards. The Collector Residential Apartment won the Bronze A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2023. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is an international, jury-voted, fair and ethical design prize which honors exceptional design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
