Ink Highlight
Ink Highlight is a residential interior design for an urban home of 150 square meters in Taiwan. The layout places function first, and no boundary is set between the dining room and the living room, so family members can gather easily in a spacious public area. One large unit serves as a dining table, a center island and a bar. Its surface uses Italian thin tiles with ink patterns, which are continued in the beige stone television wall and in natural pattern wallpapers. Corner beams and columns are repurposed as cabinets and storage.
Ink Highlight Residential by KAN, SHIH MING has been recognized as an innovative illustration of architectural design by the A' Design Awards. Ink Highlight Residential earned the Iron A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2023. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is an international, juried, academic and meritocratic design accolade which recognizes excellent design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
