W Chengdu
W Chengdu is a hotel interior design completed in Chengdu, Sichuan, China. The project covers 26800 square meters, including public areas on five levels and about 297 guest rooms and suites. The design draws on the natural colors of Jiuzhaigou, motifs from Sichuan Opera, and the local history of poets and poems. Neutral stone and wood tones are accented with vivid hues and dichroic glass, which shifts color as light changes. A waterfall installation stands in the lobby, and a fluid stone floor pattern guides guests through the spaces.
W Chengdu Hotel by Glyph Design Studio was selected as an exceptional illustration of architectural design by the A' Design Award & Competition. W Chengdu Hotel was awarded the Golden A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2023. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is a juried, academic and highly prestigious design accolade which rewards exceptional design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
