Dancing of Blooming
Dancing of Blooming is a large lantern created as a welcoming light for a Lantern Festival event in Taiwan. The lantern is 10 meters tall with the peacock tail feathers open and 8.5 meters when closed, and 6 meters in diameter. The surface is made of lantern fabric with computerized color spray printing, and the skeleton is made of iron for added strength. Mechanical systems let the lantern rotate, open the flower petals, move the butterfly wings and spread the peacock tail feathers. Internal RGB LED lights change color with the music.
Dancing of Blooming Events by LightUp Life Co., Ltd. has been featured as an innovative example of service design by the A' Design Awards. Dancing of Blooming Events earned the Iron A' Design Award in Event and Happening Design in 2023. The A' Event and Happening Design Award is an international, juried, academic and meritocratic design competition which rewards outstanding design of trade fairs, award ceremonies, festivals, conferences, exhibitions, concerts, product launches, charity events and more.
